Tell City 52" China cabinet $395

We have a new look outside with landscaping completed including a new rock wall on both sides of the building, enlarged parking area, and a new storage shed for mattress inventory.  It will relieve the crowding in side the building.  Several new furniture items include 2 Tell City solid maple china cabinets and a Tell City solid maple table with 6 chairs. 

New Security Force

We have a new security measure at The Rustic Shop--Spike and Ripper!!  Look pretty threatening, huh?  Also, shown--a couple of side chairs constructed this summer.  Lots of new interesting things in the shop--some created, some antique finds--so stop in any time. 

New Corsicana Mattresses Available

 We now have Corsicana Bedding available in twin, full, and  queen size--in 3 qualities.  Prices start at $149 for a twin size set to $359 for a queen size plush--2 sided mattress and box spring.  We have bedframes available also. 

We are still sorting and bringing in items from the recent households we purchased.  Lots of new things including furniture, toys, housewares, books, fishing tackle, and more. 

Antique/Household Sale May 24-26

We recently purchased the balance of 2 households--the picture shows it best--ie it's hard to show everything.  Included are sofas, chairs, end tables, lamps, table & chair sets, bedroom sets, full & queen bedding, bookshelves, and lots of household and collectible.  Pots and pans, dishes, fancy glassware, crocks, stoneware bowls, and more.  Sale is Thursday May 24 and Friday May 25 from 10 to 5, and Saturday May 26 from 10 to 4. 

Another Mountain Scene--Computer Fun!

 It was a quiet Easter Sunday--we attended church which included a nice breakfast, some time with the grand children on an Easter egg hunt, and then a 'nothing to do' afternoon.  I was looking for a photo from our Glacier Park trip several years ago, but couldn't find it.  So, I used the afternoon for another refresher mountain painting.  It was fun to do, and the afternoon went by quickly.  While formating the photo, it was fun to click on some of the options on the computer, and change the look of the painting!  I especially liked the sepia tone shown here. 
The Rustic Shop--there haven't been many sales in the area for some time, and I am low on furniture in the shop.  I am hoping for find some inventory in the next few weeks.  I've also started a few willow projects and hope to start more of that in the next few weeks.  I do have things in the Princess Potosa Gallery in Potosi, Wisconsin--across from the Potosi Brewery Museum.  During the winter they increased the gallery size and added a wine shop in the building.

A Happy Mountain Scene

 This may not be a great piece of art, but it does represent progress and some accomplishment!!  Having had carpel tunnel surgery in 2007 and 2008--my painting ambition came to a halt and never got started again.  The mountain scene shown here--actually done on 2-- 8" x 10" canvas boards represents the first completed work since 2008.  It is something I didn't want to give up, and I feel there are some scenes to capture--so it was an exciting week.  The picture below--Mugg's Biddick Station" is one I've done several time, but I think there are a few still in me.  I actually have one completely sketched from years ago--as well as some other local scenes.  So, I hope I can continue.  I went through my paints and had to throw out some dried up tubes, got brushes together, and everything is ready by the easel.  Let's hope we get some time.

New Mattresses Available

We have available Full and Queen size box spring and mattresses.  Queen Set is $195.  Full Set is $175.  These are quilt top no-flip.  Heavy duty castered frames are available.
I have been matching up picture frames and prints the past few weeks, so have some nice older and newer art/prints for sale.
The auction season will be starting soon, and hope to find some new and interesting items.  We still have a nice selection of furniture including china cabinets, bedroom furniture, tables, lamps, rockers, and more.
We also have begun taking credit cards--VISA, Mastercard, and Discover.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  What better picture than 2 of 4 grandchildren.  Other family will be coming this weekend, so will continue the holiday celebration with all the kids and grand children.  The cradle Grace is laying in is a doll cradle--she insists she fits.

December was a busy month and moved a lot of furniture--although the china cabinets and buffets that are in the last blog are still available.  We have several newer furniture items that I picked up recently--a love seat, glider rocker, end tables, lamps, bedroom set, and a variety of tables and small storage cabinets.  I have been quite busy with draperies and blinds, but so far have been able to do most of those in the mornings and be in the store in the afternoon.  As always, call me first if you are coming this way to be sure I am around.
