A Beautiful Autumn
A willow chair with some morning glories soaking up the sun.  I have been quite busy with draperies & blinds, and have not been in the store as much as I would like.  Finally getting a little caught up.  Lots of new bottles in stock--I bought a large supply of old barber shop bottles, blue canning jars, and also a large quantity of cobalt, brown, and green bottles.  Lots of other small items in stock too.  Stop in!

Furniture For Sale

Recently purchased a quantity of antique and household furniture pieces from several locations.  A unique tall oak writing desk, a retro buffet, chests of drawers, and dining room tables and chairs.  I will be cleaning and displaying it, but call anytime if interested.

Joe Allen Store Livingston WI

Joe Allen Store Livingston Wis.
The Allen Store was a part of the Livingston community for over 100 years.  This is a painting I recently finished--I sketched it more than 6 or seven years ago.  Then, because of carpal tunnel problems with my hands I quit painting.  I wanted to try painting again, but just never got around to doing it.  About 6 months ago I pulled out my paints and brushes and tried again.  (I posted a 'happy mountain scene' earlier) After a few mountain scenes, then Muggs Biddick's Station in Livingston, I pulled out the sketch of Joe Allen's Store.  I've always felt my 'art' is limited by my ability, but is still simply my interpretation of a point and place in time--perhaps trying to capture a bit of history.  So, there is some satisfaction being able to do something that couldn't be done a few years ago--and just moving forward trying to accomplish something that one enjoys.  I guess that's what each day is about......
